Festival Artist-in-Residence
Roger Dellar PS RI AROI
Look out for our Artist-in-Residence during the Festival. Roger has become a feature of the Festival as he sits unobtrusively painting his musical subjects while they play or sing during performances. Working quickly, Roger completes his paintings during the concert, perfectly capturing the essence of the event. He is always happy to talk to people about his work during an interval or after a concert.
Roger has a keen interest in people and their behaviour and is fascinated by the way the play of light transforms a subject.
He is a member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour, The Pastel Society and an Associate member of the
Royal Institute of Oil Painters.
Since 1996 he has been an active member of the Wapping Group.
